Chipmunk vs Stormzy, here's what I think.

We are currently in a very peculiar situation. Chip has the head of the UK rap scene in a very awkward position. Lets get into it.

Chip and Stormzy both have dropped subliminals to eachother, Chip in "Waze" and Stormzy in "I Dunno" but an address had not been put on their verses it was all up in the air, months later Chip responded with a video of Stormzy coming to his yard with a couple guys, and a new diss track called "Flowers". As of last night Chip has dropped another diss track called "Ten Commandments".

When Chip dropped "Flowers" Stormzy did not respond, and it sparked a huge debate about wether he should reply or not. At that point I said "No". It was a nice subtle move from Stormzy to show Chip what bracket he was in. I get it. Now Chip has dropped another diss, and even in a time where most people stopped caring about the beef he's produced an EXCELLENT diss track. People are interested again. Stormzy is now dealing with an itch that won't go away. He was parading in his Wiley beef that he was the "King of Grime". An integral part of Grime is clashing, I think he should to step up to the plate but he doesn't NEED to he is Stormzy at the end of the day.

The Wiley situation in my opinion was an easy win for Stormzy, a lot of his fans do not care about Wiley's music. Wiley is often the butt of jokes on twitter so he was easy to rub out only the rap/grime purists will look at that battle fairly. I actually think Wiley is a lot smarter than people would like to think but that's a story for another day. Chip on the other hand is younger more relevant in today's scene he's not going anywhere for now. The tottenham rapper rebranded himself as the guy who spins people in 2015 after the Bugzy clash. So that's why I think Stormzy isn't engaging at this current point he knows with Chip you have to be all in because he "can't run out of bars". If Stormzy doesn't answer, he's risking losing respect for his grime audience, I think if he was to fully gear up and go at Chip it would be an incredible moment in the UK scene because Stormzy can RAP.

I guess we just have to wait and see how this unfolds.
